I'm A Hustla Baby! I Just Wantcha Ta Know: "I'm directing music videos, starting with 'Needurluv (stay with me)' from hip hop artist Cashus King (fka Co$$). I was given the opportunity through his manager Jeff Johnson II (Morehouse College Class of 2002).

No Playa Hatin Here.: "Artists can become discouraged while waiting to be discovered by industry gatekeepers. I believe creatives should establish their own paths to success by collaborating with other independent artists and releasing our projects via nontraditional platforms. The support from HBCU students and alums, through social media and word of mouth, has been instrumental in increasing exposure for my work."

#SpelmanBlackGirlBrilliance From The Heart: “My greatest accomplishment was getting the courage to live the life I wanted. For years, I held a lucrative job with the U.S. Department of Defense doing work that I liked but didn't always love. I relied on Proverbs 18:16, 'A man's gift will make room for him...' and took a leap of faith to change careers and use my creative skills. I no longer have to settle for being satisfied; I can be happy.”

KAFIA's Next Accomplishment: “After traveling back and forth to Los Angeles, I'm excited to become more rooted in my hometown of Atlanta and increasing people of color's opportunities in the film industry here. My website, which everyone can get to here www.KafiaHaile.com, stays updated with my latest projects.”

KAFIA was in Alumna Spotlight for the Class of 2002 15th Reunion. Click here to read to read that spotlight.

What I'm Reading If The Apocalypse Left Just One News Source?: “It has to be Very Smart Brothas (VSB). There's a saying, 'what is personal is universal'. VSB's writers have such a personal and specific touch that makes their essays relatable.”

Bottomless Brunch or Happy Hour Tapas?: “Definitely Bottomless Brunch. Endless mimosas are a guaranteed way to keep my friends socializing for hours.”
